Serj Tankian is going to perform in the Prague Incheba Arena!

Serj Tankian is going to perform in the Incheba Arena (small sports hall) at the Exhibition Ground (Výstaviště) in Prague on 24th June, 2010.

The renowned frontman of the metal band "System of a Down" is this time coming with a solo album in a brand-new symphonic arrangement. He has been acclaimed for his project "Elected the Dead Symphony" all over the world and is going to perform in front of the Czech audience with an accompaniment of approximately fifty members of the Czech National Symphonic Orchestra.

Ingenious arranger Serj Tankian

Serj Tankian is coming back to the Czech Republic after three years to show the audience the project "Elect the Dead Symphony" in an absolutely unique and breath-taking arrangement. The Armenian-American composer and multi-instrumentalist has become famous namely as a frontman of the band "System of a Down", together with which he has released five successful albums. It is true that the formation dissolved in the year 2007, but Tankian continues with music and finds even bigger space for his own idea of a music arrangement of orchestra compositions. The symphonic creation of the first solo album with the title "Elect the Dead Symphony" gives the compositions a brand-new dimension and it gains in grandeur. That is to say they were presented live in an accompaniment of the more than seventy-member Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra at a concert in Town Hall on New Zealand. The publishing house Warner Music has prepared, besides the album, also a record on DVD, which offers a unique opportunity to recall this music event. With his second independent album "Elected the Dead Symphony", which will be released on 8th March this year, he is setting off on a tour within whose framework he is going to serve the Czech audience a unique show of his composition and arrangement craftsmanship, inimitable voice expression and daring texts.

From the flute to dreadlocks

Serj Tankien was born in Beirut, Lebanon and for long it did not seem he would have a music career at all. In the childhood he attended only flute classes, then he applied himself to studies and after the graduation from advertising and marketing he established a software company. Nevertheless, he inclined to music more and more and thus started his first music band at the age of twenty-six. As time went on he met with great musicians in this band, with whom he later set the famous formation called the "System of a Down". They released five albums, with which they celebrated an enormous success.

Serj Tankian also engages in the political scene, together with Tom Morell they founded an organisation The Axis of Justice. He often takes part in demonstrations. He is a vegetarian, does not watch TV and does not even listen to the radio. At the present time he lives in Calabas in California, but his "second home" is on New Zealand. He appeared with dreadlocks at several concerts, at the older ones his hair was dyed blond and at the release of the album "Toxicity" he was able to adjust his charismatic look to the audience and also the momentary situation. So for example he had his hair cut short.

Ravishing show with a Czech orchestra

Serj Tankian is at this moment finishing his second solo album, which will be released this March. He is disclosing already now that it will be more jazzy and it has more orchestral sound. He performs with this project in the world always with the local philharmonic orchestras and even in Prague it will not be otherwise. At the June concert in Prague he will be accompanied by more then a sixty-member ensemble of the Czech National Symphonic Orchestra. Tickets to the ravishing show are available in the traditional advance sale networks Ticketpro, Ticketportal and TicketArt.
